About Us

Our History

Welcome to Panel Shore, where sustainability meets innovation!

Panel Shore emerged from humble beginnings, born out of a visionary project for the 2019 Engineering Expo at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Spearheaded by Ramez Aladdin and guided and mentored by the esteemed Dr. Hossein Ataei, the Director of the Construction Engineering and Management program at UIC, our journey began with a simple question: How can we harness the unique properties of recycled plastic to revolutionize non-structural applications?

Fueled by a passion for sustainability and a relentless pursuit of innovation, we set out to explore the untapped potential of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) as a transformative material. With its abundance as waste and remarkable properties including a high strength-to-weight ratio, low moisture absorption, and low thermal conductivity, PET presented itself as a durable, lightweight alternative to traditional construction materials like concrete and clay bricks.

Our pioneering research paved the way for Panel Shore to redefine the landscape of construction. Today, we proudly offer a range of sustainable solutions leveraging recycled PET, from innovative sidewalk bricks to other non-structural applications. Our commitment to sustainability isn't just a mission—it's ingrained in every aspect of our business, from product development to manufacturing processes.

At Panel Shore, we're not just building a company; we're building a greener, more sustainable future. With every brick laid, we're making strides towards a world where environmental responsibility and technological advancement go hand in hand.

Join us on our journey as we continue to push the boundaries of innovation, one recycled PET panel at a time.
